Business Analyst (Financial Crime)

Atrium EMEA are supporting a world-leading IT services consultancy in their search for a Financial Crime Business Analyst. Due to the nature of the role, the client will only consider applications from candidates with recent financial services experience.

Rate: £420-£440 per day (Inside IR35)
Location: Northampton (2 days per week on-site) – You must live within a commutable distance to be considered
Duration: 12 months (initial, with likely extensions)

The Role
We’re seeking a Financial Crime Business Analyst to join a high-profile transformation programme within a leading UK financial services organisation.
What You’ll Do
* Support the overhaul of financial crime processes following FCA audit findings.
* Conduct enterprise-wide risk assessments, helping to close gaps in onboarding and screening processes.
* Review and enhance lifecycle processes across KYC, CDD, Sanctions and PEP screening (real-time and overnight).
* Work with digital payment systems, aligning them with screening/monitoring tools (e.g. ARIC, Fircosoft).
* Translate business and regulatory requirements into functional specifications, supporting UAT and change delivery.
* Facilitate workshops with stakeholders, ensuring effective engagement and alignment across teams.
* Produce MI and reporting to track remediation and highlight emerging risks.

What We’re Looking For
* Proven BA experience within Financial Crime/KYC/AML domains.
* Previous work with major UK banks
* Strong background in requirements gathering, process mapping, and risk/control assessment.
* Experience with screening/monitoring solutions (e.g. Actimize, Fircosoft, ThreatMetrix, World-Check).
* Excellent stakeholder management and ability to influence at all levels.
