Senior VxWorks DO-178C Developer

Requirements
MUST be based in the UK
MUST have hands-on DO-178C certification experience
MUST have a strong background in safety-critical or avionics software development
Minimum of seven years’ software development experience
At least five years’ experience working on DO-178C development programmes
Strong understanding of DO-178C standards, ideally including DAL A certification
Key skills/experience
Strong embedded C programming experience
Development of low-level embedded software
Board Support Package (BSP) development for custom or commercial embedded hardware
Design, development and testing of embedded device drivers
Embedded hardware bring-up, testing and validation
Experience with requirements-based testing, verification and validation, and structural coverage
Experience developing software for embedded processor architectures such as PowerPC, ARM, x86 or MIPS
Experience using embedded software development environments such as Wind River Workbench or Eclipse
Ability to produce detailed software design documentation
Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across complex embedded systems
Experience working independently within customer-facing project environments
Ability to mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers
Strong written and verbal communication skills

VxWorks development experience
Linux development experience
Multi-core and virtualisation architectures
Simics
Experience with DOORS, Polarion, Jira or comparable requirements and traceability tools
Experience supporting formal software certification activities
Additional information
Candidates must be comfortable working directly with customers and wider engineering teams
The role may involve travel to customer sites
Candidates may be required to work on site under pressure during key delivery or validation activities

DO-178C certification experience is non-negotiable for all roles
